The pages of The Washington Times today reflect the nation’s disenchantment with Barack Obama’s presidency. The op-ed section contains an article by Jeffrey T. Kuhner, president of the Edmund Burke Institute for American Renewal, entitled, “Don’t Go on Vacation — Just GO.”

Last September, Kuhner called for Obama’s impeachment. This year, he’s taken a new tack: Telling Obama to quit:

Mr. Obama is the most arrogant, self-absorbed

Impeachment usually represents a punitive act following the commission of a crime, but some are looking to it as a last means of self-defense. At a Tea Party town hall meeting last night Rep. Michael Burgess, R-TX, said impeachment “needs to happen” to stop Barack Obama from inflicting more “damage” on this country.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram claims an attendee “suggested that the House push for impeachment proceedings … Read the Rest of this Post

Here is a measure of both this movement’s effectiveness and Barack Obama’s stark, brazen criminality: Even the RINOs are talking impeachment.

In Rochester, New Hampshire, on Monday morning, former Utah governor and Obama’s one-time ambassador to China Jon Huntsman told a citizen that Obama’s war in Libya may be an impeachable offense. ABC News posted the following transcript of the exchange between Huntsman and the “voter”:

Voter

Whatever groups might abandon Barack Obama in the polls, everyone knew black Americans would be the last to jump ship. Although the average black family’s net worth fell 83 percent between 2007 and 2009, a whopping 86 percent blacks still approve of the president. However, he lost Glen Ford, the “progressive” radio host of the Black Agenda Report, who has spent more than 40 years in journalism. … Read the Rest of this Post

A national political organization has joined the growing list of those calling for the impeachment of Barack Obama, citing the separation of powers and Obama’s unconstitutional usurpation of powers. Among its grounds for impeachment is a sentence that could have been written by any small government Jeffersonian: “Obama’s unprovoked assault on Libya is where we need to draw the line on executive overreach.”

The group is not Campaign … Read the Rest of this Post

Serious discussion of impeachment has reached the most influential publication in the United States. The New York Times recently featured a Bloggingheads discussion under the headline, “Libya and Impeachment.”
The 70-minute discussion pitted Glenn Greenwald of Salon.com against Ilya Somin of George Mason University Law School. (Somin also blogs at The Volokh Conspiracy.) Last month, Greenwald told Amy Goodman of “Democracy Now!” he believed Obama’s Libyan war is Read the Rest of this Post

Conservatives who say they believe in “peace through strength” might take a lesson from the Obama administration this week. Its officials walked back discussion of an end-run around Congress on the debt ceiling after Republicans stepped up their talk of impeaching Barack Obama.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner had raised the possibility the president might unilaterally raise the debt ceiling under the pretext of the 14th Amendment. On … Read the Rest of this Post

Barack Obama has sometimes been fond of branding his Republican foes “hostage-takers,” but officials in his administration have found a new hostage in their negotiations over raising the debt ceiling: the U.S. Constitution. The president’s advisers and several “unbiased” media outlets are suggesting if Congress refuses to raise the debt ceiling, Barack Obama can force the nation to continue borrowing money. The Founding Fathers required all … Read the Rest of this Post

When asked about his personal war against Libya and criticism about ignoring congress in a blatant disregard of the War Powers Act the President brushed both aside as just “noise”.  Obama has no intention to seek congressional approval as required by law. The President wants Americans to ignore the fact that the incursion into Libya was supposed to be a US Lead effort to establish a UN mandated “No Fly Zone” … Read the Rest of this Post
