Suspend Elections? Democrats Put Fascism on the Table

by Ben Johnson, The White House Watch

North Carolina’s Democratic Governor, Beverly Perdue, has a keen idea to help Congress focus on the economy: just cancel Congressional elections in 2012. At a rotary speech in Cary, NC, the governor stated:

I don’t know if the president or any of the candidates for president, quite frankly, of either party, have a solid tool set to help us out…We all want to be number one. I want North Carolina to be number one. You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixin’ things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we’ve worked across party lines, so we’ll It’s not impossible to try to do what is right for the state. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.

Perdue’s camp immediately went into spin mode, claiming the governor was only joking. Her spokesman, Chris Mackey, said, “Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem: Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of what’s best for the people they serve.” Although an audio recording proves otherwise, Mackey is sticking to his story.

Indeed, the full context shows her remarks, although targeting Congressional elections, would be applicable to the presidential election, as well.

Gov. Perdue’s remarks are part of an increasingly open strategy to impose the president’s agenda through administrative channels — something bordering on dictatorial powers or open fascism. This author was the first conservative journalist to expose Obama’s plan to rule through executive powers in 2011. Although Soros-funded think tanks drew up his agenda and inside-the-Beltway journalists cheered him on, establishment conservatives have been late to acknowledge his actions or respond to them.

The president’s favored constituencies have pressured him to suspend the deportation of illegal immigrants, a wish he has partially fulfilled. Democratic Congressmen have suggested he unilaterally raise the debt ceiling. The president signed an agreement establishing a Super Congress, with the intention of preempting as many of the nation’s substantive decisions away from the new Tea Party freshmen — and the majority of voters who elected them — as possible.

With their successes, left-wingers have become increasingly open about their means and intentions.

On September 14, Obama’s recent budget director Peter Orszag wrote an article for The New Republic entitled, “Too Much of a Good Thing,” in which he argued the nation could avoid “gridlock” by ignoring Congress:

To solve the serious problems facing our country, we need to minimize the harm from legislative inertia by relying more on automatic policies and depoliticized commissions for certain policy decisions. In other words, radical as it sounds, we need to counter the gridlock of our political institutions by making them a bit less democratic.

If the Obama administration wishes to make the nation less democratic, it could begin by disenfranchising the illegal immigrants and unregistered or otherwise ineligible voters who are furtively casting ballots and illegitimately participating in our elective process. Not only have the administration’s election officials expressed their hostility to doing so, they dispatched lawyers to pivotal states during the 2010 election to harass state or local elections officials attempting to follow the law.

Contrary to Perdue, Orszag, et. al, politicians behave best only when petrified about the next election, sweating out their prospects for continued public fleecing service in the sure and certain knowledge that the voters will hold them accountable for their every action.

Perdue’s remark was no joke. It was a trial balloon to push political discourse to the Left and redefine Obama into the political center. The president can then unleash a gradual program that transforms America by fits and starts, having concluded that eroding the Constitution “piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault.”

The Republican leadership has shown no capacity for holding Obama responsible for his unconstitutional outrages. The Tea Party must make full use of the democratic process to replace the GOP leadership, retake the White House, and insist the nation return to the boundaries set down by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution. Had they done so in years past, Perdue would not have felt comfortable blithely proposing the nation reverse their counsel and return to a royal form of government presided over by King Obama and his court.

I was wondering when they would start this conversation. Whatever is next we had better be ready for these stupid fools.

Liberals are by nature liars. The nature of their beliefs drives and sustains this tendency.

The liberal philosophies exhibited by many disconsolate, deluded individuals in the U.S.A and around the world are not viable in reality. I truly wish these philosophies were innocuous in nature; however, they are quite detrimental to the well being of the various peoples of the world. There are three reasons that liberals persist in their delusions despite said philosophies obvious detriment to the people of the world: ignorance, apathy, and greed.

Many liberals are usually well meaning but highly analphabetic cretins who have been deluded into following unsound philosophies by their peers. The left is comprised of people of questionable intellect and little or no ability to elevate themselves above the mindless droning of the masses.

Liberals practice beliefs and behaviors that are harmful to themselves and others. They do this knowingly but they simply do not care that their actions are harmful as long as they are allowed instant gratification of whatever they are feeling at the moment.

The upper liberal echelon consists of malicious power seekers who prey on the weak and ignorant while spreading their destructive filth for the sole purposes of prolonging their pathetic grasp on political power.

Regardless of whether a leftist is driven by ignorance, apathy, or greed, they all have one thing in common: they lie. The ignorant liberal lies either out of ignorance or to preserve self-delusional beliefs; the apathetic leftist lies to excuse his lifestyle; and the malicious progressive leader lies to keep his power base apathetic and ignorant.

I almost threw up on this one. Perhaps the time grows nearer when we march on DC. In the mean time, buy guns and bullets… lots of bullets.

If they even try to pull this nonsense, there will be anarchy in the streets! There are too many people in this country who are armed! We won’t stand for our right to vote these morons out of office to be taken away! It’s guaranteed in our Constitution! This woman is up for re-election herself and knows she’s going to get thrown out of office! The first amendment gives her the right to make such a ridiculous statement in the first place! And notice she only said to suspend the elections for Congress, not president. Of course, suspending the elections would include the Liar in Chief and keep him in office!

If they dare suspend the 2012 elections, there will be civil war! That Communist b!tch, “Governor” Beverly Purdue needs to be recalled – YESTERDAY!

Does anyone, else, see the parallels between the US, now, and the Weimar Republic in Germany in the twenties and thirties?

They can’t stop us from holding elections. If need be we can do it the old fashioned way and just gather at our town halls and use pen and paper. Then tally everthing up and blast the results over the internet. They really and truly cannot stop us from doing it ourselves.

  10. Louisiana Lady says:

Well, the cat is out of the bag. Democrats know they would be beaten at the polls, and will stop at nothing to stay in power. If the weak and possibly complicit Republicans had vetted Obama properly this would never have come to pass. It is PollyAnna to think citizens can hold elections when the government decides otherwise. We may never know why the Republicans have not stopped the Socialization Obama has created, but I don’t sleep easy these days. I fear whoever the “good guys” are (are there any left?) they have waited too long to act, and we will pay a heavy price. The country may never recover.

  11. Donna says:

Wake up, people! If the republicans are limp wristed on everything else that’s important, what makes you think that they would fight to stop the democrats from suspending elections? This whole dem vs. rep has a socially engineered outcome. Liken it to WWF. They put on an act like they’re fighting. One side concedes to look like they’re losing, when in reality, they’re both winning. Then after the show they go out for dinner and drinks. Our job is to react to the facade just the way we are, and that’s just how they want it! Any mayhem will usher in Marshall Law. That’s when they can make mass arrest and justify mass killings. Government gains total control (Facism) and gets population control built in (Eugenics). Conspiracy? We’ll see. Better start prayin’.

Maybe Obama will just keep on smoking lots of cigarettes and he will get lung cancer before
    the next election.

Civil War? Rioting in the streets? C’mon. No….all of us good little LAW-ABIDING citizens will sit back and do nothing but innocuously post on blogs and send email chain letters and complain, complain, complain about the state of the union while it burns down around us, because nobody has the cohones to UNITE and openly rebel. Like I keep telling my friends and family: I will be one of those people who go out in a blaze of glory defending my 2nd Amendment right to bear arms when they come to my house to disarm me “for my own safety” and then blow me away while the media label me the local survivalist nut job.
